Welcome Aurélie!

Aurélie Stephan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Biology and Neuroscience from the University of Strasbourg, France. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience at the Lemanic Neuroscience Doctoral School, where she studied movement disorders at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV).
Her interest in sleep research grew during her time at CHUV, inspired by the work of Dr. Francesca Siclari. She later joined Dr. Siclari’s lab as a postdoc, where she investigated sleep misperception in paradoxical insomnia and identified EEG markers of arousal in both healthy sleep and sleep disorders.
Since November 2024, Aurélie has been part of the Lüthi Lab, where she continues to explore the dynamics of the arousal system — this time in mice — to better understand its role during sleep.
