Maria Paglione joins the Neukomm lab as a PhD student

Maria obtained her MSc in Biology from the University of Naples “Federico II”, with a major focus on reproduction and cell differentiation. During her MSc thesis in the lab of Dr. Di Schiavi, she characterized mutant genes involved in Parkinson-like diseases using the genetic model system Caenorhabditis elegans. Maria joined the Neukomm lab on September 3rd 2018 as a PhD student, where she will focus on the identification of mechanisms essential for the survival of the axon and its synapse in Drosophila.
