Maria Paglione
PhD student

Maria obtained her MSc in Biology from the University of Naples “Federico II”, with a major focus on reproduction and cell differentiation. During her MSc thesis in the lab of Dr. Di Schiavi, she characterized mutant genes involved in Parkinson-like diseases using the genetic model system Caenorhabditis elegans. Maria joined the Neukomm lab as PhD student, where she will focus on the identification of mechanisms essential for the survival of the axon and its synapse in Drosophila.
