Mohamed Nemir
Senior Scientist

Mohamed obtained his PhD degree in cellular and molecular biology from McGill University (Montreal). His postdoctoral training focused first on sarcomere formation and maintenance in cardiac muscle (IZB, ETHZ) and later, on cardiogenic and neurogenic cell fate determination in pluripotent embryonic stem cells (CHUV / Ludwig Institute). He then joined the Service of Cardiology at the Lausanne University Hospital where he studied the control of cardiac response to injury by the Notch signaling pathway and long non-coding RNAs. Currently, he is Prof. Bagni Group at the DNF where he investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying Fragile X syndrome using human brain organoids.
