Sara Barsanti
Post-doctoral fellow

Sara graduated from with the University of Bari (Italy) with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She then continued with a Master in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Turin (Italy) following the Neurobiological track. For her thesis internship she worked at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in Amsterdam focusing on the role of Semaphorin3A in adult mouse cerebellar plasticity.
After a brief experience as research assistant at ICVS (Portugal) in the group of Joao Oliveira, she decided to focus her studies on astrocytes. Now she joined the group of Paola Bezzi as PhD student and she will work on the role of astrocytes in the pathophysiology of 22q11.2 syndrome.
