Julie Buron
Post-doctoral fellow
Julie obtained a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences at the University of Poitiers in France and a master’s degree in Cellular, Molecular and Integrated Neuroscience at Aix-Marseille University in 2019. She then obtained a ministerial doctoral fellowship from the Doctoral school of life and health sciences to pursue a Ph.D in Neurosciences at the “Institut de neurobiologie de la méditerannée” (Inmed) in Marseille, under the co-direction of Dr. Françoise Muscatelli and Dr. Clément Menuet. During her Ph.D she studied the role of oxytocin on cardiorespiratory coupling and identified a hypothalamus-brainstem neuronal network that synchronizes heart rate with breathing. After graduating in October 2023, she joined the Lüthi lab in February 2024 as a post-doc to study the interaction between autonomic functions and sleep, with a particular focus on brainstem neuronal networks.
